VegfestUK
VegfestUK is an events company based in Bristol, known for it's large-scale vegan and plant-based events over the past 20 years. These events have been known for a number of years as the biggest vegan events in the country, at one point rumored to be the biggest vegan events in Europe. The events are a get together for vegans as well as outreach events, including talks and panels on activism, health, fitness as well as hosting workshops, cookery demonstrations and more. The events have seen their fair share of famous guests, speakers, entertainers and musicians (think Happy Mondays, Roots Manuva, Peter Hook, Ruts DC, Macka B, Alpha Blondy, Johnny Clarke, Sarah Pascoe, Alasdair Beckett King, with visits from Jimmy Page, Alan Ford and countless others) and were at their largest between 2017-2019.
The events have taken place in London (Olympia, Kensington Town Hall + more), Bristol (Amphitheatre; Ashton Gate Football Stadium + more), Brighton (Brighton Centre, Hove Town Hall) and Glasgow (SEC Centre).
The work
Over the years I've been involved with a number of events and design campaigns with VegfestUK.
I've worked with the team on projects such as event posters, printed Show Guide booklets, roller banners, pop-up banners, adverts in magazines, bi-fold and tri-fold flyers, social media assets, video filming & editing, livestreams, magazines, events-associated imagery for TV screens, banners such as outside Olympia London, Sales Packs, floor plans and digital signage. I've also assisted with website content creation and maintenance, creative writing, grant applications and more.
The look and feel is high contrast, bright colours and - starting with the London 2022 poster signalling VegfestUK's comeback post-pandemic, the last couple of event posters have had a vibrant, playful take on each location the event is set in.
Vegan Party Conference
Breaking from the regular format of VegfestUK events, I was asked to create a look for a new VegfestUK event launching for the first time in 2024 - the Vegan Party Conference. The idea for this event is to host deep and sometimes challenging panel discussions, where the audience can vote on which side of the discussion they agree with, similar to the classic debate format. The event is also expected to be live-streamed in full.
